Critical Composite Processing Using Isobar Heat Pipe-Based Technologies

Webinar attendees will receive an in-depth presentation on the benefits of various heat pipe and thermosyphon-based heat transfer methodologies used in various composite molding and processing applications. The webinar will also explain how incorporating the methodologies and technology of “super thermal devices” in traditional curing systems and existing tooling can improve cure times and product performance properties.

Acrolab has developed a full range of Isobar superthermal conductor-enhanced componentry, which can provide near isothermal temperature profiles on the working faces while accelerating the thermal recovery of the form/molding/curing process. Its latest product offering of this methodology features the Isomandrel, which can provide “out-of-oven” cures of filament-wound or fiber-placement-wound processes.

Joseph Ouellette
Joseph Ouellette is chief technical officer and president of Acrolab Ltd. Ouellette has more than 40 years of experience in energy transfer and thermal engineering. His experience in thermal systems has brought about advances in thermoset and thermoplastic tooling design, petrochemical and polymer processing, aerospace, electronics thermodynamic systems and renewable energy systems. Ouellette holds patents in the fields of polymer processing, heat transfer and fluid flow. He attended the Western Ontario Institute of Technology with a concentration in electromechanical automation process control and electronic servosystems.

Ouellette is a past executive in residence at the University of Windsor, Odette Business School, where he continues to work with MBA-level students honing presentation skills. He also sits on evaluation committees within the various faculties of the university. Ouellette is a founding member and president of the Canadian Association of Mold Makers and founder and current board member of the Southwestern Ontario Biotechnology Innovation Network.
